About
Mohamed Shareef was appointed Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Bank of Maldives (BML) in October 2024, becoming the first Maldivian to lead the national bank as CEO. He has over 25 years of experience in the banking and financial sector, previously serving in multiple leadership roles at BML including Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer. He has also served as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Asian Bankers Association.
