Maldivian is the national airline, operated by the state-owned Island Aviation Services, which was founded in 2000; the Maldivian brand launched in 2008. From its hub at Velana International Airport it serves domestic airports including Gan, Kulhudhuffushi, Fuvahmulah, Hanimaadhoo and Dharavandhoo, and also runs seaplane services. Its fleet includes Airbus jets, ATR and Dash 8 turboprops and Twin Otter seaplanes.
