Geela Ali was appointed as the Minister of Health, Family and Welfare of the Maldives in April 2026 following a restructuring of cabinet ministries. She has extensive experience across the health and diplomatic sectors, having previously served as the Ambassador of the Maldives to Belgium and the European Union. Prior to her diplomatic appointments, she held various technical and senior leadership positions within the Ministry of Health.
