The Civil Court of the Maldives was established as a superior court under the Judicature Act (Act No. 22/2010), succeeding the former Civil Court established in 1997. Operating from the Justice Building in Malé, it also maintains an additional division in Hulhumalé. The court exercises first-instance jurisdiction over civil cases, contract and commercial disputes, and the enforcement of judgments.
