Care Society was founded on 9 November 1998 in Male' and focuses on disability issues in the Maldives. It runs community-based rehabilitation (since 2004) and the Care Development Center (since 2010) for people with autism, Down syndrome and cerebral palsy. It also ran a three-year tsunami rehabilitation programme across 17 islands.
